Caring for knitwear

Wool lasts for years if you wash it less and dry it flat. A short guide.

Wool needs washing far less often than cotton. Air a jumper overnight after wearing it and it will usually be fresh by morning.

When you do wash it

  • Hand wash in cool water with a wool detergent.
  • Press the water out in a towel; never wring.
  • Dry flat, away from radiators and direct sun.

Fold knitwear rather than hanging it, so the shoulders keep their shape.
